Educational Assessment
We have a high success rate because not only do we conduct an assessment regarding Learning and behavioural difficulties, we continue to work with both family and school till the objective is accomplished.
The educational assessment is done in a very systemic way by collecting information about a child’s present level of performance, strengths, and weaknesses in order to make an educational plan. We normally do it by conducting the Diagnostic Test for Learning Disabilities (DTLD), Diagnostic Test for Reading Disabilities (DTRD), etc.
Procedures and Interpretations
There are different types of educational assessments carried out, which are listed below.
These procedures and their interpretations, help the special educator to understand the child’s specific educational difficulties, which helps in formulating an Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Formal Educational Assessment: This test is done by a Clinical Psychologist.
Informal Educational Assessment: This test is done by Teachers or Special Educators in the school or through professions.
Curriculum-Based Assessment: This is test is conducted based on a curriculum designed by the education board, which is used to measure the student’s performance.
Private Sessions
We conduct one-on-one sessions for children who have Learning Disabilities or Learning Problems. After discussion with Parents and Teachers, an Individual Education Plan (IEP) is prepared.
What is Learning Disability: Learning disability means a disorder in one or more basic psychological processes involved in understanding or using language spoken/written, which may manifest itself in an imperfect ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell, mathematical calculation, etc.
The term includes conditions such as perceptual handicaps, brain injury, minimal brain dysfunction, Dyslexia and development aphasia.
The term does not include children who have learning problems, which is primarily due to the result of Visual, Hearing or Motor handicaps, Mental Retardation, Emotional Disturbance, Environmental, Cultural and Economic Disadvantage.
Special Sessions
Special sessions are arranged for parents of children with Learning disabilities or Learning Problems. Counselling parents is done in one-on-one sessions on how they can effectively handle their children and use different strategies so that they are able to help their children’s studies.
In case the parents are uneducated, they are first taught to read and write followed by teaching strategies to help their kids. Special counselling on behavioural issues of the special child is conducted so that parents are able to handle them more effectively.
Separate Batches: Special batches are conducted for English Speaking, Grammar, and Personality Development for parents and children who have language problems so that they stay on par with their peers.
Tuitions: Our Professional staff has separate tuition classes for helping each and every child individually in their academics so that each child is able to perform according to his potential in school.
Interactive Workshops
Interactive workshops are conducted for parents, where they are taught strategies to handle their child in academics and behavioural issues.
Intensive training programs for teachers are conducted to provide them with the know-how on how to identify and handle children with Learning disabilities (LD) and Learning problems, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) in the classroom.
Sex Education
Sex Education is one such issue that even the most audacious people avoid discussing openly in society due to cultural misconceptions. Parents, as well as teachers, hesitate to provide sex education to children, though they are being pounded with sexual messages/information everywhere like News Paper, Magazines, Social Media, Television, Films, etc. These young minds are more vulnerable to this content, as they are rarely given healthy and legitimate information about sexuality. Thus, it meddles with their development towards mature and vigorous adulthood.
At Hart Remedial Centre, we organize special workshops for parents, which help them how they can have a vital life with their kids on sexual education by providing adequate scientific knowledge, which will bring high standards of conduct, responsibilities, behaviour, wholesome personalities, etc. in them.
